Hello! My name is Madeline (and I also go by Maddy).
I am a Postdoc at the Center for an Informed Public at the University of Washington (UW) working under the supervision of Dr. Kate Starbird. I am broadly interested in how context and subjective experiences influence memory, judgment, and decision-making. My current research focuses on understanding how judgments of truth and risk play out in naturalistic contexts. I use this work to shed light on effective strategies for preventing and correcting the spread of misinformation. I completed my Ph.D. in Social Psychology at the University of Southern California (USC). There, I conducted research in the Mind and Society Center under the advisement of Dr. Norbert Schwarz. Prior to attending USC, I spent three years working in the Applied Cognition Research Lab under the advisement of Dr. Ira Hyman at Western Washington University, where I received a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience.
